This was not the first time I’ve been to the Plaza. It’s one of our favorites for large groups. They are usually pretty good at keeping the wait time low even for larger groups. The staff are always friendly and attentive.
The food is pretty standard Tex Mex. They have some option that are original, like creamy jalapeño dip, but overall they serve all the usual options. They have a hotter version of salsa for those who prefer more heat, and they always bring little bowls so you don’t all have to dip out of the same bowl; I know that’s important to some. I wouldn’t call it the best Tex Mex it average, and consistent, which is very important to me. It generally good food and definitely what I want when I want Tex Mex.
We tried this place in Amarillo so decided to try the Lubbock location. First the good: our waitress was very nice and attentive but we had to remind her about refilling our drinks. I had the enchilada lunch special with beef enchiladas with jalapeno sauce, refried beans and rice. My plate was good but the jalapeno sauce wasn't spicy at all. We also had a manager come by and ask how everything was and if we needed anything. Now for the bad: the chips and salsa. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce, now spice or flavor to it at all. There was honestly nothing that wowed me here or anything that would get me to come back. Yeah the food was good and so was the customer service but nothing that would make me come again. My family felt the same way. We all got different items and they felt what they ordered was good but wouldn't go back again either.
Mexican restaurant. Liked their salmon. Fajitas was not that great as I expected; still good. Price reasonable. Waiting time approximately 20-25 minutes after order. Ambiance great. Staff were nice to us.
This place has an expansive menu with some unique items alongside traditional Tex Mex options. The salsa, tacos, and stuffed avocado had really good flavor (and I'm picky). Black beans weren't my favorite, but they were good mixed with rice.
My fajitas were really good, The steak was a 4 star that’s my reason for the 4 stars Outback steakhouse has better steaks and also there was way to much cheese on the noodles with steak and cheese, it also didn’t taste as good with the Velveeta cheese on it other cheese would of bin better. We also ordered guacamole for the appetizer and it was 4 stars. Would eat here again for the fajitas.
