A very nice park for the entire family. There are several playgrounds with equipment for young children. Numerous hiking trials and plenty of space for cars and bicycles together. I've never used the swimming pool, but it looks very nice. The tennis and basketball courts look to be in good shape. Two nice sand volleyball courts. The only complaint, and the reason for four starts, the restroom my wife used needed a serious cleaning.
What a great place. If you hike up the hill to the cross, you can see miles in every direction. So many choices for hills and trails. Lots of fossils. Some tricky steps but a nice challenge. Best part- lots of turtles
My wife and a friend visited to hike on the trails. We've always thoroughly enjoyed this park. It is well kept and the staff genuinely enjoy people and the park. There are numerous trails for various skill levels, fishing is available as well as a swimming pool, volleyball courts, swings, a soccer field and overnight camping is available if you have a tent. This place is a well kept secret so I hope I'm not going to drive thousands of people to make it crowded. It's a quiet place for contemplation and reflection.
My kids love this park. We go after story time at the library on Wednesdays. There are now 3 different playground sections. There are also a lot of trails. We haven't been on them but I would like to.
We also love going to the pool. I took my kids to swim lessons this summer. It was $60 per kid for 2 weeks of half hour long sessions Monday through Thursday. There are 3 sessions of swim lessons offered. I plan to sign them up next summer as well.
This is easily one of my favorite spots to hike. There is an abundance of different trails, just be careful when it's wet because it does get slippery. It is hardly busy with people, and it is super peaceful. There's a trail that brings you higher up, and you get a nice view of a lake, one of my favorite trails! Beware of the spiders though!
Update: 4* now because the bathrooms were hideous!!!!!! Clogged with you know what and also who knows what! All over the floor. Gross!
