Just installed my Overland Kit on my 2016 JKU with 96K miles & 40 inch tires on it. Ive now got about 800 miles on it and I must say what a difference this upgrade has made on my JKU, even without the cylinder assist! I’ve got 50K road miles on these 40s and it was starting to feel like I was driving without power steering, so once my pump started to whine I bite the bullet and upgraded.
In my application, I am still running built rubicon axles so I’ve been very hesitant to go offroad on 40s. This now this gives me a lot more confidence in my steering box and now when I am locked in 4L I can actually turn my wheel. The aluminum components are probably my favorite, they have premium welds all around and I think it adds a very nice touch under the hood.
The install was a pain as there weren’t really much directions included in any of my 3 boxes but it was packaged very well. I also couldn’t find a specific or in-depth YouTube video to follow along. It took me and one other person around 6/7 hours to install it from start to finish on the ground with jack stands and no lift. The hardest part was getting the new steering box into the place, I couldn’t have done that by myself; my guess the box alone weighs close to 65-70lbs and it’s a very tight fit. Though this upgrade is something I should have done a lot sooner when I was on 38s. Hopefully this helps someone 💯📈
Really loving the PSC Big Bore Hydro assist kit on my 17 jku. Running 40 inch tires at 5-6psi with the locker engaged was becoming impossible to turn the steering wheel with the stock power steering. Was really worried about the factory steering gearbox as that is a know weak point on the wrangler. Super happy thus far. Really well engineered complete kit that is nicely manufactured. You can tell these guys know what theyre doing. As they say, you get what you pay for, so buy the best. PSC is most certainly the best. Will get a thorough testing/beating in a couple weeks here at Easter Jeep Safari in Moab!
Since having PSC installed their cylinder assist on my JKU has been a complete night and day difference. I feel a lot safer, especially when I’m wheeling. The customer service and overall knowledge of the company and technicians really made me feel at ease and I now have full confidence in my Jeep and PSC.
I have the 2012-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Adventure kit for my 35-inch tires and I LOVE IT!!! The instructions were super easy to understand, and it was great not needing to put together hoses and fittings. It all just bolted together just as it said it would! The only thing I would warn people about is the weight of the steering gear...boy that thing is heavy! But, if you have a friend help you, 2 people can get that part done easily. Beyond the ease of the install, I love how easy it is to turn my Jeep at low speeds and how it drives on the highway. At first there is an adjustment since now it steers like it should, but it is easy to get used to it and wonderful once you are. I don't know about all the custom stuff people talk about, but this complete Jeep kit is fantastic!
