AvilaCare Assisted Living and Memory Care of Heath

This has been a long overdue rating/review for me. My mother has been with AvilaCare for about 10 months and we have been more than pleased.

I had my mother in another facility for about 3 years. I was okay with the care she was receiving, and was thinking okay was about the best I could hoped for. Let's face it, placing a loved one in assisted living/memory care is heart breaking as it is ever ever going to be perfect. On my mother's annual review in her prior facility. the rates increased drastically. I was told they would increase even more the next year. This left me to have to make the difficult decision once again regarding my mother's care.

Luckily we found AvilaCare. AvilaCare has shown me that accepting ok doesn't have to be. The constant communication with the owner and his expectations of his staff are amazing. The staff goes above just doing their job. They truly do care and give the residents the individual attention to make them feel special each and every day.

This is not a facility, but a place of love and compassion. Never have I witnessed such caring and compassion from each and every staff member. Everyone is truly a professional.

Every day the place smells clean and fresh. There are only 12 rooms in her building, so it is small and quaint. My mother tells me the food is really good and that staff is really nice to her. I must admit, I love coming in and seeing the cook pealing potatoes and taking food in and out of the oven. That is exactly how you would want to cook for your loved one.

God does work in mysterious ways, as I don't know that I would ever have left our previous facility. Trust me when I say he truly had his hand in leading us to AvilaCare.

I can say that without a doubt, this has been a great experience we’ve had with Avila facility. The staff has been very attentive to our needs, and first rate care of our mom. They have bee flexible and accommodating as mom's mental stages and physical needs have changed so much since she first moved there. So many positive things to say about this community and the staff - first rate. Highly recommend!!

AvilaCare Assisted Living and Memory Care is a clean facility with compassionate staff. The staff and owners really, really care about their residents and it shows. Would definitely recommend!

AvilaCare Senior Living in Heath has been an unexpected gift! I was unhappy with my father’s care at a different, local assisted living facility because he lacked any and all stimulation, which is so critical to the care of those with Parkinson’s Disease, and I was fearful of his disposition during my impending maternity leave so I began my search for an alternative.

From my very first interaction with AvilaCare and it’s Staff, my father and I have been treated like family. Kerry, the director of the community, Lynsey and her wonderful team of medical staff, Brenda the guru of activities, have welcomed us, catered to our special needs and circumstances, addressed any and all concerns and have gone above and beyond in creating a healthy environment and continuity of care for my father. Having spent many hours at the facility with my father I can genuinely say they work hard to provide an individualized approach to care for each of their residents and continue to expand their offerings and activities to provide stimulation and enjoyment.

I love that the facility itself is always clean and smelling fresh. The smell in the air around lunch time is mouth watering,and the food is always delicious. Tina is such an amazing cook.

Lastly, the new owners. I guess the facility changed ownership last year and so far I am impressed. It was really bumpy the first couple months, with quite a few staff members having left. I was very concerned and voiced my opinion. And was surprised by their response. Because they are local, the owners are very hands on. And so the response was, "Unfortunately when you raise the bar for care and cleanliness, some prefer to find other places to work. Most of the ownership have their nursing license and are ready to fill in any shift that needs covered". And so they did. WOW.

I highly recommend AvilaCare for anyone looking for that next level of community care and support.

AvilaCare Assisted Living and Memory Care is a wonderful facility. My grandmother has been in the facility. My grandmother can be a hand full at times.Every time I ask for them to do something for my grandmother they go out of the way to help. The admission director Andy is incredibly empathetic, thoughtful and attentive to the residents' and their families needs. He ensures that residents receive the proper care they deserve. I would absolutely recommend this center to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming place for their loved one.
