My first time at Saltgrass in Texas on vacation celebrating our 60th Birthdays with two other friends. This restaurant was recommended to me from someone else who visited during their trip to Texas. Our waiter Justin was the best waiter ever!!!! He made our experience so much fun. The food was absolutely delicious and amazing. The best steakhouse ever. We topped off our Evening with this delicious carrot cake 😋
I usually like this Saltgrass location. The time I went, I was promptly seated and served. We had a server named Itsy. She was super adorable and personable. The food was hot and correctly made. This location is visible from the highway, clean on the interior and exterior. My favorite part about the entire meal....dessert 😋. I love love their cheesecake! Would definitely recommend based on my experience.
We went to Saltgrass Steak House for a Date Night and it turned out to be the perfect place.
Once we arrived there was about a 20 minute wait before we were seated to our booth. Our server came to greet us with a smile. He was nice, attentive and very respectful.
Thirty minutes later we were receiving our food. The rolls and cinnamon butter were one of my favorites. We did however make a statement about one of the Chicken Fried Chickens being so small for the price that it was. There was no fuss about fixing the problem, they offered us another one but we chose a house salad instead.
Everything was passed satisfactory and tasty. The meal was well worth the $45 we spent. We will be back for another visit!
A marvelous dinner. My only disappointment was that they had the place packed while we're still in a pandemic. It would have been nice to see some seating limits.
Just a few notes:
If ordering the fried pickles and peppers, be aware that the peppers are jalapeños, not bell peppers. That was perfectly fine for me, but it disappointed those among us who do not enjoy heat.
I had the plate with both fried and grilled shrimp. There were more fried than grilled (by one). The fried shrimp were comparable to those one can get anywhere, but the grilled shrimp were fantastic! If i have a chance to return, I will order the grilled shrimp.
Tom's Texas Tea (if I recall the name correctly) was the best Long Island iced tea I have had in years.
My wife really enjoyed the grilled pineapple margarita, and there are a few drinks she truly enjoys.
If it fits your budget (or you can stretch it for a special occasion), I strongly recommend the Saltgrass Steak House.
