I love our police department

This police department is excellent- as I believe all PDs that I have interacted with over the years are. Specifically, I have had to call APD for a Welfare Check on my daughter twice when her phone was out and I could not reach her. The Dispatcher was great, responded professionally and the Officer immediately performed the check and called me personally to report the status. As a retired mental health professional I know very well the situations they often encounter and the difficulty of obtaining services appropriate for the mentally disturbed! I would never support such a ridiculous idea as defunding the police. They need more funds and support services for their health and especially for managing mentally disturbed citizens in the community. Thank you APD for all you do and please stay safe!!
