I cannot recommend Denise enough if you need help adjusting to Cochlear Implants. She is patient and clearly has the experience to understand how the brain and sound work together. I am single sided deaf —and received a cochlear implant (CI) over 3.5 years ago. I struggled the first year because I didn’t know how therapy with someone like Denise could help me build skills and confidence with this new tool. I actually gave up for 18 months and didn’t use my cochlear implant. Upon meeting my new dr. in Texas—he told me about how effective CI patients found speech/listening therapy to be. I was very honest about my previous experience and my goals. Denise knows how to word questions to get to a common ground. She’s patient and understanding of the frustrations that occur. After about 5.5 months of working with Denise, I made huge strides in my comprehension with my CI sound processor—and I’m very grateful for that. It’s now adding value to my life instead of making me feel like it’s a nuisance. Thank you Denise, for all the coaching and help. So grateful and thankful that we connected.

After getting a cochlear implant I was getting frustrated with the noise I was hearing. My audiologist referred me to Denise who got me started on the road to hearing and understanding. She’s been great to work with and I am now confident with my abilities to hear in all situations. I highly recommend!

I want to take this time to thank Denise Gage for her work with my grandson. Who was diagnosed with nonverbal autism. Before he started speech therapy with her he could barely talk. Within a year he has become verbal and more aware of his surroundings. I trust Denise Gage’s practice and am glad that she is helping us better my grandsons life.

Our experience with Denise Gage has been rewarding and valuable. In less than a year, our preschooler (with an articulation disorder) has made great strides in his speech and language. His teachers, friends, and family have all commented on how much more confident he is at speaking and how clear his speech has become. One would think it would be difficult to get a young child to sit down for a 30 minute session, but Denise is incredibly engaging and creative in the way she works with children. She even tailors the activities to each child. She uses games and technology to keep the session fun and interesting. And now, with many of us staying at home, she continues to keep the sessions engaging and valuable through teletherapy. I would highly recommend her practice to anyone seeking a speech-language pathologist.

Denise has the very unique ability to combine her professional understanding of speech and communication from a technical standpoint with a wonderful engaging manner of teaching that information to her students. She has multiple tools, games, computer programs, flashcards, etc. at her disposal to keep learning interesting and on track to achieve clearly defined goals. She is excellent with children but adults that need help would definitely find her services above expectations. Her speech services are 5 star all the way and I would wholeheartedly recommend Denise Gage & Associates to anyone needing help with any speech or communication difficulties.
