I cannot recommend this academy enough. Not only are the coaches wonderful, but all of the teammates and assistants are too. My son is in Little Dragons and I am continually blown away by the coaches (Professor Jackson and also Coach Moore). They are firm and disciplined while being kind and fun. The kids respond so well to their direction. I also cannot stress how impressed I am by the teenagers that help with the classes. Every single one acts mature beyond their years. They are kind to the younger kids and make them feel so important and respected. They are patient while being consistent and direct with instruction. Mr. Dorian, Ms. Maggie, Ms. Carley, and all the others are wonderful examples for the younger kids and I love to watch their interactions. I have enjoyed watching older class members who are in the academy prior to the classes as they are also mature and kind with the younger kids. This academy teaches respect and discipline (on and off the mat) and it is evident in all members.
OK, for starters, i have trained here about 5 years, and they happen to be the best about 5 years of my life! when you start you do not just learn jujitsu and karate you Learn life leadership lessons and you socialize with people and make great Friends but most of all you join a family this place is basically a second home to me the staff is amazing. Professor Jackson , Coach Moore , Master Waugh, and so many more amazing staff I can say this because I'm an assistant myself and the chance to be able to train with these amazing people. This is why I SO SO SO SOOOOOOO recommend this place more than ever! This video shows that we are not just a training academy. We are a FAMILY. We are a TEAM!
On April of 2021 we walked into TXBBA with Groupon and our granddaughter. We were looking for something to help our granddaughter learn how to control her temper and how to interact with people in a calm fashion. Master Waugh, Professor Jackson and the whole TXBBA family were warm a welcoming. They understood how our granddaughter was feeling and what was needed to help her succeed in life. There were many trails and tribulations. They were always kind, caring and reassuring. They truly live what they teach. Which is how to focus your energy for the good. How to deal with issues they will encounter in everyday life. “How to become a black belt leader.” 2 years later our Granddaughter has grown in her confidence, strength and ability. She is now making straight A’s at school and having a positive impact on those around her. We are so thankful for the Groupon that brought us to the TXBBA Family and the positive impact they have had on our family. I strongly recommend TXBBA to anyone looking for a positive environment for their children or themselves.
I am a martial arts instructor from a different art. My kids and I took a private lesson from Coach Moore and it was fantastic. Coach Moore was patient, fun, passionate, and very knowledgeable. We had a great time and learned a lot.
The academy is very nice and very clean. As an instructor, I like the emphasis on respect and safety. I highly recommend training here.
We love the values and skills that the team at Waugh Jiu-Jitsu are teaching our sons (ages 6 & 7). Our 7 year old has a hard time dealing with his ADHD but since starting at Waugh over a year ago, we have seen a difference in his ability to control and regulate himself as well as manners, leadership, and kindness.
