Madea's Down Home Cooking

Was visiting from Indiana. Tried for first time after friend highly recommended it, and it was the best soul food restaurant we’ve ever eaten at! Everything was fresh and hot, and the staff was professional and friendly. We had the ox tails, greens, yams, broccoli cheese casserole, 3 different desserts-absolutely delicious! And when I say even the Kool-aid was good-if we lived there, it would be a regular stop for sure! Definitely going back when we return to Dallas! God bless you!

EXCELLENT !!! soul food. The chicken fried steak. Smothered pork chops. Fried catfish all were good. Somebody put their foot in the greens and mac and cheese cause they were awesome!!!. The place was very small and there were long lines but the staff and the food made it all worth it. The bathroom was clean. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for truly good " seasoned " food. Just be prepared to wait in line if you go on a Sunday.
