Fixe Southern House

Not sure what to expect, but I was blown away. I was looking for an interesting spot for lunch, near my hotel. When I walked in I was blown away. It looks and feels like a VERY expensive restaurant. Huge, comfy chairs were amazing. Ordered the vegetarian dish for lunch, quite tasty, and very reasonably priced. Our waiter, Abraham, told us the whole back story of how the place came to be. Great story, impressive atmosphere, tasty food.

I have stayed away from this restaurant simply because I thought it was fatty southern food. This place is actually quite good. The service is excellent, great bar and wonderful scotch menu. The food is excellent. It doesn't have to be fattening, if you order correctly. Best of all, there is not a waiting line, like several other restaurants at Clearfork. Give this place a chance. I bet you will be surprised.

Our server made two great recommendations. Get the fried chicken and get some of their biscuits. We did both and we were not disappointed. They were amazing. Everything we had was great. I got a chicken sandwich which was awesome and my wife got shrimp and grits. The grits were a chunkier and thicker than we were used to so that's something to think about if that's something you don't like. But the atmosphere and the service were both amazing.

From the French 75,Honey Badger, and Lemon Strawberry Spitzer are wonderful. If you're like me and like to eat while drinking they offer food on their happy hour menu. I recommend the Fixe Burger, chicken sandwich with french fries, and the fish fry.

We have been to this location multiple times and have always been blown away with the quality of the food and service. The menu is concise and, while sophisticated it is not pretentious. The biscuits alone are worth the trip, but all of the entrees are stellar. Portion sizes are generous, which brings a bit of authenticity to the southern theme. The drinks are delicious as well. While not “cheap”, given the location and the quality of the food, it is a good value.
