Fun trail to watch some wildlife, catch a glimpse of the lake and pretty wildflowers. Bring a camera, some water and enjoy nature on this expensive path. Great for a run but there are lots of rocks so be careful. Boat parties on the lake provide plenty of fun music to keep you motivated!
Excellent park with well defined trails. There are some steep spots and the trails are not paved so exercise the appropriate caution. There are several good views of the lake on the northern trail. We didn’t do the southern trail on this visit. Parking is good but not huge. The north trail was a good mix of shade and sun, not sure about the others. Lots of fossils visible in the upper limestone.
Great trails, the maps are pretty accurate. Parking area is tiny and completely inadequate for the size of the hiking area. It can hold maybe 40 cars, on most weekends there are an extra 100 cars parked on the busy road outside the gate, which is kind of dangerous because of fast cars going by.
Get ready for some walking! Some terrain may have pedestrians thinking its sort of difficult to get around. They have different mile goals to accomplish. There were people who slipped so bring good shoes.
Great park, very minimal parking
