I have been a customer of Fortress Security for over 3 years now and I can honestly say that they are the best in the business. They installed a state-of-the-art security system in my home, complete with cameras, sensors, and smart locks. The installation process was quick and professional, and they explained everything to me clearly and patiently. Mark, the San Antonio office manager is always quick to respond to any requests or question.
The monitoring service is reliable and responsive, and I feel safe and secure knowing that they are watching over my property 24/7. Quick & easy installation by their service professional who showcased all the features of the Alarm system to me and made sure that things were accurately set up and user friendly on all our devices. Fortress Security installed the access control & CCTV systems in our 34,000 square foot office space. They designed & implemented a solution to meet our high security standards, which include fingerprint scanners, security turnstiles, and CCTV coverage over the entire space. For the past 7 years they’ve been responsive and quick to support any service requests as well as any add/changes to our system to meet our business needs. I would definitely recommend Fortress Security for any physical security needs.
I was a Fortress Customer for almost ten years. I had two systems at two different addresses. They treated us very well and were always responsive, respectful and professional anytime me or my family needed to talk with them. Their wireless systems were very convenient for our homes. The pricing was tiered for monitoring and each sensor, so my pricing for my 1400 sq ft home and 1100 sq ft home was approximately $50 per month per house ($100). This also included access to the app to arm and disarm.
My family and I eventually moved to a new city with an alarm system pre built in to our new home. Needing only monitoring, I tried to work with Fortress to negotiate a new price. This is when I found out the small print in the contract. My original contract expired at year three for both homes but built in was an auto yearly renewal that they were not willing to terminate unless I bought out the contracts (standard in the alarm industry apparently). They offered to transfer my account but would barely budge on pricing to remain competitive with other service providers.
Fortress did cut the yearly balances in half on my two contracts and after doing the math for years ahead I bought them out to leave Fortress due to their inability to negotiate pricing for monitoring only. Their pricing for my needs were still more than 150% higher priced than other DFW competitors.
I will remain grateful to Fortress, to Mark and Angela for the really awesome communication and customer service, to their techs for always answering questions when they arose and to Fortress in general for making my family feel safe with the alarm system and monitoring.
I wish I could have stayed with them but their inability to budge on the contract pricing per month for monitoring only, the huge price gap in competitiveness, and the fact that they made me pay to leave rubbed me the wrong way. I felt like after almost a decade of being a customer some more grace and bendability to retain me as a customer should have been done.
They should review their monthly prices and maybe think about how they handle established customers a little bit better. That is my only complaint. Other than that, if you're thinking of becoming a new customer, go for it. They're awesome and you won't be let down. At every turn they will be there for you and your family when you need them, and their service is very reliable.
