Old Hickory Steakhouse

Place is bomb. First of all Trina the host is fantastic. Great energy and set the night right. Octopus and shrimp apps great. Wedge great. Filet awesome and sea bass special were 5+++

Recently dined at the Old Hickory with my family and expected a run of the mill hotel steakhouse, however the Old Hickory pleasantly exceeded my expectations. We had a great experience and everything we ate was delicious. I had the dry aged ribeye which was outstanding, along with the black truffle mac and cheese, whipped potatoes, and crispy Brussels sprouts. The lobster bisque to start was also delicious and the desserts were great at well. The atmosphere is classic Texas steak house and the wine selection is expansive. If you are staying at the Gaylord and looking for a delectable meal, look no further than the Old Hickory.

Friendly service in a very warm and rustic atmosphere. The Vanilla Pear martini tasted as good as it looks. The NY Strip was perfectly prepared with melt in your mouth texture. I would suggest the trying the cracked peppercorn sauce on the side. Overall a great experience.

This place makes you feel special. The staff is trained for royalty and the food is exquisite. The lobster bisque is a role model for others to follow. Wedge salad was a meal in its self and the lobster Mac was hearty soul food done with a chefs touch.

During a recent work trip, I was treated to some very expensive steak dinners. Then when my wife flew in for Mother’s Day weekend and wanted steak we settled for what was in the resort. And we quickly realized we hadn’t settled in the least. Those other steak houses had nothing on OHS. From the food, to the drinks, to the service - we were extremely pleased. The Maitre D, Tara, was probably one of the sweetest most accommodating people we’ve come across. The service and his support was bar-none. The manager was a doll. We were offered a quick private tour of the chef’s joint of self-drying and curing salamis and sausages. Totally awesome! Then stuck around for a couple of bonus cocktails. Nothing is inexpensive, yet worth every penny. Thank you OHS for surprising us and giving us resort-restaurant hope!
