We needed to celebrate Father's Day on Thursday instead of Sunday, and while I've been wanting to try LeTara, I was a bit leary after reading so many mixed reviews. But the restaurant intrigued me, so I decided what the heck! The service was a bit slow, but on our side of the restaurant the bartender Luis seemed to be the only server for about eight groups. But he remained very friendly and professional.
Our family of five had no complaints about the food! We started with the steak nachos, cornbread and calamari. All were tasty and large enough for two people. We then had the grilled salmon with asparagus and coleslaw, the boneless ribeye and salad, the hickory burger and two enchilada and steak entrees. Large portions and everything was cooked to perfection. The ribeye and salmon were flawless! The ribeye was perfectly marbled, tasty and very tender. Dessert included oreo topped bread pudding, keylime pie and trés léches.
Wow! We were so stuffed we could hardly move! We will definitely be back!
Some previous reviewers complained about the pricing. Since covid most restaurant prices have gone up. We dine out somewhat frequently and we did not find LeTara's pricing any higher than the chain restaurants who have bulk buying advantages. We will definitely be back!
We had been given the heads up that it was on the pricier side, so we expected that. We were the only ones to walk inside at 11:30 (they open at 11) and the lady didn't act overly glad for our service. Maybe their Mother's Day was too crazy and she didn't want to show back up today. Who knows, but she did seat us and take our drink orders immediately.
Hubby ordered the French Dip sandwich ($18, I think) and it was actually really good! I ate a few bites and commented that the dip tasted fresh and had good flavor. Best I've tasted tbh. I ordered the Turkey Melt ($16) and ended up taking off the radicchio (red cabbage) as it had a strong flavor I didn't like. Both came with homemade fries which were fresh and we enjoyed.
So the food was great! It costs more than you would think for the area it's located, we assume it's because it's also a bar/grill. I am glad to have finally given LaTerra a try and was pleased with the meal but I'm not sure we will be back. Who knows though? I may get into a mood the spend $45 on lunch for two again.
Upon our exit, the same lady as when we walked in was friendly this time and even told us to have a good day. Guess she was glad we left hahaha.
Great quiet spot for a weekend lunch. Fresh, clean, and friendly staff. caution, you might get gurty silverware or glass with lipstick on it... Food is fresh and excellent, enough of a serving to fill you without making you feel lethargic. Affordable plus quality food! Recommend the veggie burger with its pineapple sauce. wow.
This place is worth a drive! We have never had less than amazing food here. Try the trout dip and rock shrimp as appetizers. The aioli sauce on the rock shrimp is perfect! Their Reuben sandwich is a go to for when we are wanting more of a lunch situation. Dinner: Try their filet for sure!! Mmmm! If you are a salmon person they have it grilled or on plank. The service is amazing...everyone is always so nice! Their bar is huge! Prices are on point. They have live music Friday 6-10pm, brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Ask for Adriana as your server because she is fantastic!!!
