Gentle Beginnings Birth Center

Yesterday was our 6 week (& final) checkup with our amazing midwife. I may just be a little emotional. Visiting the birth center for my prenatal visits was something I always looked forward to each & every time. Not just to talk about baby boy or to listen to his sweet heart beat. But to visit with Michele and the others at the birth center.

I’m so blessed and thankful to have such an amazing women be a huge part of our lives & to have been under her care during pregnancy & postpartum. She did everything to assure me that natural childbirth is possible and I’m so glad I chose her to be by my side.

I will forever recommend Michele & her team!

About 18 months ago our baby girl was born at Gentle Beginnings! We can't say enough amazing things about our midwives Michele and Sarah. There was so much peace in the process, so much care, and so much freedom. We were so thankful for that process and can't wait to do it again!

I love this birth center. I interviewed and checked out about 4 centers and midwives before choosing Gentle Beginnings.Its homey atmosphere and most importantly for my midwife Cheryl Gaspard made it a great choice for my all natural VBA2C labor. Throughout my pregnancy for my prenatal visits I was completely taken care with in house blood work and sonograms. As a women of color finding a safe and comfortable option for birth is always difficult but this birth center has a midwife for every pregnant person!

Our experience with Gentle Beginnings Birth Center and our midwife Melissa has exceeded our expectations from the start.
Each visit with Melissa was a comfortable, private experience where my husband and I could ask questions and discuss any concerns we may have had without being rushed or made to feel like any of our concerns were unimportant or irrelevant. We were able to listen to our baby’s heartbeat at each appointment which was a real comfort for me personally.
I really appreciate the fact that they encourage the participation of partners and any children you may have. My husband was able to attend and participate in all appointments with me. I also appreciate the focus on mom’s mental health from day one all the way through postpartum. You’re encouraged to be vulnerable in a safe space and share anything you may be struggling with.
Melissa is full of knowledge and resources, I’m so grateful for her care and support through my pregnancy and now almost 6 weeks postpartum. You really develop such a special relationship with the person who will be with you when you welcome your precious baby.
