This little out of the way museum was worth the find. Not gonna lie, thought the place was closed down when we arrived. But the nicest attendant waited inside full of knowledge about Elizabeth Ney. Her enthusiasm drew us in. I was amazed at the detail on the statues, so sad that Ludwig II didn't get to see the finished portrait. This place deserves some love Austin.
One of the best kept secrets that the Austin “weird” crowd hasn’t gotten to. One of my favorite places to take people when they come in town because it’s just so different from typical landmarks most come to see.
This is a small but great testament to an incredible woman who lived an amazing life. The docents are excellent, and really make the sculpture and artifacts come alive. Very happy that this history is available to the public... Lovely place!
A very personal display of Elisabet Ney’s work. The house is well preserved and it feels as if you’re stepping back in time.
This museum is wonderful. The story is enchanting. The castle brings you back in time. Elizabet Ney's sculptures are breathtaking.
