Peaceful place to relax and take in a short stroll in nature. Wear tennis shoes as it's quite rocky plus up and down rocks if you'd like to view the river and the beautiful homes along it. Easy for kids to so. Not very stroller friendly however along the trail. After a short hike, check out the garden (takes 10min or so) but really the draw are the gorgeous peacocks.
This is our family's go to for some extra fun for the kiddos and peace and quite for us. Of course the peacocks take the cake, but the trails are amazing too. This place is so tranquil, I feel one with myself whenever I visit here. Nothing but love for Mayfield Park ❤
This is a beautiful place to visit, away from the city, and relax! The peacock are beautiful and stunning. The trails are enjoyable and is fairly quiet at this moment. The only negative is the lookout point since it is not much of a view, but is negligible, compared to the rest of the park.
Another awesome place to visit within Austin city limits. We took a small lunch to picnic outside the premises but still enjoy the view of the many peacocks that are residents of this park. There was more people that I expected but it quickly cleared up. Best time to go is around 3pm. By this time many people are heading out. Parking becomes easier and you’ll get to enjoy the park a lot more. Definitely worth a return trip.
