I Recently Completed The Recording Arts Program. I Would Absolutely Recommend TRCOA For Your Career Portfolio. You Are Not Only Enhancing Music Skills But You Can Become A Business Owner. That Part Makes It All Worth It.
Definitely one the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life
The decision to come to The Recording Conservatory of Austin was the best choice I've ever made and has entirely shaped my life. The one on one classes with current, working professionals from all disciplines of the industry was one of the many things that made this program special. This is easily the best audio program I've ever seen and worth every penny.
It is self-driven, however. That means for some people it won't be right for and others will take to it like a fish to water. Do the work, get the rewards. If you do the work you'll come out with a ton of new friends, a functioning business and will be doing something you love, forever.
My stats:
3500 (clocked) lab hours, approximately 90 songs recorded/edited/mixed/mastered for 15 clients spanning rock, metal, country, jam, rap, blues, singer-songwriter, classical, choral, two audio books, tons of live sound (SXSW 2014, 2015, Austin Psych Fest, Euphoria Fest, Art Outside, Texas Motor Speedway) got to meet and work with some awesome well known producers, Grammy winning groups and a film project in just under 2 years.
The studio is state of the art. The view is incredible which absolutely compliments the beauty of the studio itself. I finished the school years ago but still call and bug the staff about any questions that come up in my musical journey. I highly recommend it to any prospective engineers who truly want to learn what it takes to make great music and turn it into a business. Good luck with everything.
