Life Ki-do Martial Arts, Parenting & Life Education

Life Ki-do has made an amazing impact on our family since our 6 year old son began attending classes 7 months ago. Our son loves it, and he has grown in confidence, strength and focus. Much more than just a traditional dojo, Life Ki-do also teaches a philosophy that helps the kids learn to be more empathetic and effective in navigating family and social interactions in their daily lives. The blend of martial arts that Sensei Jonathan teaches is fun to watch and more practical than the more rigid systems I studied growing up. We are very thankful to have found Life Ki-do.

I LOVE how they are with my 5yr old, what they do and how they do it. In my opinion, there is no more important education and experience for children (and it's not just for kids). The philosophy, teachings and skills many martial arts schools are often known for, just lightly graze the surface of what this school represents. I believe Sensei Jonathan and his team consistently demonstrate an understanding and deep commitment to the joyful, gentle, consistent teaching of a way of life, that goes far beyond the traditional martial arts school. For those seeking the well known benefits for their children, or selves, of a martial arts school, Life Ki-do has earned your consideration and participation. For those that want even more, I think the experience would be profound and life-changing.

Parenting, work, and life in general will shake you from time to time and you need to find balance, balance I found at Life Ki-do. In 6 months we went from not going to a dojo to going 3 times a week. My son goes for his class, then he goes with me for a family class, then I go to the adult class. The staff is friendly and open, they are welcoming and caring but most of all they are patient teachers. I am a better father, husband, and person for having joined this team, I hope you find the same.

My 9 year old son joined this summer and it has been the Best experience! He's learned to respect others and himself better, be aware of his surroundings, while working with his peers, plus get stronger and more focused!
