My husband and daughter go to classes together at Texas Soryu Karate. They have fun together in classes and outside of class while practicing their katas, excercises and basics. The school itself has a very family oriented feel to it. Everyone is so nice and helpful. There is always someone to help students learn something new and root them on while they learn. Really great atmosphere and a great place to learn something new!
Absolutely love Texas Soryu. Highly recommend!! Sensei Ryan is very dedicated to the dojo and his students. My daughter loves it here and can't wait to get to class. We all feel like family here and it's so nice to have that comfort level here. Plus there is ac now :)
This dojo is bay far the best I've ever visited. Sensi Ryan has so much patience with the kids and heck even me as am adult. The changes I have seen in my kids life is drastic! He is no longer afraid of simple things. He actually loves to spar with his dad. There are adults who bring their kids and learn the art along side of them. I love this place and I'm so proud to be a part of team Soryu!
We joined July, 2017, and love it here. This is not your typical gym environment. There is no AC, no heater, a simple car garage building. Hot during summer and cold in winter. Once you get pass that, you will love it here!! Karate is both physical and mental training. The tough environment only helps to make one stronger and tougher.
Master Hill is a very good teacher. He is patient, careful about details, tireless, and most importantly he enjoys teaching kids.
I was considering joining my kids here, but after seeing a black belt test, I 'wisely' decided it is much comfortable just sit on the beach watch little ones working hard. 🙂🙂
A hidden gem! The instructor knows how to differentiate instruction very well, while being firm and fair at the same time. The first day I met him, he said, "If someone is not learning, it's the instructors' fault, not the student." My daughter loves going to karate and I love seeing her succeed. I would give it 10 stars if I could. And, it is reasonably priced, unlike some other places we tried out first.
