“The staff and doctors provided an excellent experience. They even support online check in. My husband and I barely had to wait before we were seen. Tests and results were very timely. They were very communicative and didn't leave my husband and I in the room for long periods of time without giving us an update. Carlos is the head nurse and probably the best nurse I've ever encountered. He was very kind and mindful of his service. I'm giving a 5 star overall for the experience but some feedback I have for Dr. Ely specifically is to be more straight forward with her patients. Don't make them pry information out of you. It's great to have a sense of humor, I appreciate that, but I wasn't clear as to what the actual risks or diagnosis was. She made it seem like nothing was happening and everything was okay when in fact, I had a high risk associated with my symptoms. Had she reviewed ALL their recommendations (they had for me on paper), verbally with me, I can't help but think my outcome and actions would have been different. I wish Dr. Ely had helped me fully understand what was expected of me or the associated risks. Other than that, this facility provided superior service and the only place I'll be returning if I have an emergency in the future. Thank you to the Austin Emergency Center team for your hospitality on South Lamar!”
