Dr Knabe and his team @ Seton Williamson are outstanding. Very good “bedside manner” & just a breath of fresh air after several bad experiences with other surgeons. Extremely professional, kind, and explanative every step of the way.
I visited Dr. Knabe to get my wrist looked at. He was incredibly nice and personable. He fully explained everything and went through numerous tests for my wrist. He showed me the x-rays and explained everything on each view. He was just an overall great doctor and best of all he confirmed that my wrist was fine!
Dr. Knabe was very patient, kind, attentive with me. He listened to all questions and did a efficient/ wonderful job explaining everything that was happening. He recommended in my case to skip surgery based on the function of the my middle finger (cut extender tendon) and that my injury was healing properly without need of surgery. The alternative was to perform intense physical therapy following the injury and implementing message therapy to help keep scare tissue pain to a minimum. Because of this, I was able to regain almost 98% complete function of my middle finger less than a month later.
I strongly feel he has far exceeded my expectations as a hand specialist and really appreciated his commitment to my care. On a side note the immediate staff was extremely friendly and helpful including contacting third party on bills.
I recently had my thumb repaired and it was incredible. Several years ago I had my left thumb repaired and it was most painful. In fact, I waited to have my right thumb repaired until I couldn’t stand it any longer. Dr Kanabe’s method is totally different. First of all, they used a shoulder block during the procedure which meant no anesthesia-Which for me was a real plus. Pain pretty intense about 48 hours manageable with pain pills. After that, pain has been manageable with Advil. Pain mostly at night. Third day I was up making 9 dozen cookies and working around the house. Fourth day grocery shopping etc This week cast the came off and I could touch my thumb to each finger!! Last time it took weeks of therapy to do that.
