“Excellent BBQ. I had the chicken BBQ plate and added sausage which is a $2 add. It comes with a 1/2 pound of meat if you add another meat or not. The chicken was excellent, chicken quarter which is a leg and thigh and with BBQ that means you get a juicy piece of chicken and not a dried out breast. With that plate you get 2 sides. I chose beans and coleslaw, both were excellent. The coleslaw isn't overly sweet and the beans have a great simple taste without trying to hard, not super sweet nor were they spicy, just right. Small portions but high quality and you'll be full. People always complain about BBQ places not giving you a lot of bang for your buck but you usually get what you pay for. It is family owned and operated, the Dad and his son were here today and they were happy to explain their history and obvious passion about cooking. The menu is simple and on par for a Texas BBQ without a million things to search through to find the good stuff. Most of the customers that came through seem to just be ordering take out but there is seating inside and the atmosphere is welcoming. You order at the counter when you walk in. When you walk through the doors there is a menu displayed right in front of you and above that a chalkboard with today's special. On the counter are placards with available sides and when he runs out of one he just removes that one from the counter so you know that choice is unavailable. On FM 1097 between the long bridge and the Eastern Entrance to Bentwater just look for the flags out front and that will let you know that they are open. Highly recommended.”
