I stopped here on a whim, and I'm so glad that I did! The collection of dollhouses and toys is exquisitely detailed and extensive for such a small space. My kids (1 and 3) were absolutely fascinated with everything. There was even a little play area with a dollhouse that they could play with. This was exactly the roadtrip stop that we desperately needed on a cold afternoon.
A doll and dollhouse hobbiest has converted this entire house to a small museum in Bennington, VT. There is a range of dolls and doll house sizes, some historic, many popular over the decades. Talking with proprietor is a must. I came because my friend from Thailand is a real doll and dollhouse connoisseur and stayed with me a couple days on her US trip. She plans to visit some other doll museums as she travels for a couple months. I, personally, enjoyed the small puppet display and the information shared with the display. I know my best friend will be bringing family and enjoying the small teddy bear display.
Collections of dolls and toys from all over. Liked the dolls of famous persons and celebrities. Fascinating fairy gardens of natural materials.
This museum is AMAZING! The dollhouses are all hand built, intricately designed miniature homes. There is even an exhibit of tiny museum exhibits! There are a few dollhouses used for hands on enjoyment and if you call the curator, you can set up an English tea. Excellent!
Curator is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Able to answer any questions you may have and is excited to share knowledge if you are interested. Highly recommend checking this museum out if you are in the area.
