Couples Retreat Spa with Finnish Sauna

My husband and I visited Mike's cabin for our honeymoon in the last week of July. Weather was perfect, the Blue Ridge Parkway views were stunning, and the cabin was peacefully nestled in nature. We did lots of hiking and activities all less than an hour from the retreat - Lover's Leap Overlook, Round Meadow, Shot Tower, New River State Park, Fort Chiswell Animal Park, Pilot Mountain State Park, Mabry Mill, and the Floyd Farmers Market. We were also lucky to be in town for Floydfest, a music and arts weekend event. Floyd is a charming town with lots of cute shops and good coffee. We also spent much time relaxing and cooking at the cabin - breakfast on the porch, dinner on the fire pit, gazing at the sky and looking for frogs at night, and laying out under the warm sun amid flowers and the music of windswept trees. The location is serene, quiet, and romantic, well maintained, and a perfect balance of camping atmosphere and cozy/comfortable amenities. Mike has marvelous utopia to share and I highly recommend visiting. We surely will return!

I spent the week with my two teenage sons, my adult daughter and our one grandson at this secluded chalet. As we approached the cabin at the end of a long drive way, it first appears to be a historic american cabin. Once we opened the heavy wooden front door we were all pleasantly surprised to see all the comforts of home in a cozy furnished interior while still having access to current modern accessories. My two teen sons thankfully did not pack their computer games, but instead they enjoyed watching movies relaxing together late at night in the living room. We all enjoyed drinking hot creamy coffee on the deep pillared front porch every mid-morning. My two year old grandson enjoyed playing with the moss covered rocks in the beautiful green and purple clover field. My daughter took time away from being a single mom and read a book in the separate standing studio that she ventured to over a bridge. The studio building is another retreat from the family members that are with you on your vacation. It is simply the most peaceful building I have ever experienced.

We stayed at Mikes place for 2 weeks in the spring of 2023. This place is magical to say the least. It is remote enough that all you can hear is the sounds of nature; dark enough that you can see all the stars. The cabin is spacious and comfy with modern up-to-date amenities. Mike was the perfect host steering us to the wonderful sights on the Blue ridge Parkway. I highly recommend this place and Mike's hospitality. We will always stay here when we are in the area.

I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful cabin twice. I loved getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The hiking is fabulous, and I also enjoyed the wildlife that surrounds the cabin all day and night.

The little town of Meadows of Dan has some very cool shops. You can find all kind of treasures. If you want to enjoy some nightlife check out the Town of Floyd just a short ride away. Whatever your taste is you will find it in Downtown Floyd.

The owner goes out of his way to accommodate your needs. I am looking forward to my next visit.

So much offered at this cabin from trails, healing pond, awesome fire pit, and separate meditation/yoga studio. Plenty of windows to watch nature before your eyes. Comfortable beds for family and friends events. Michael is an incredible host and adds plenty of extras in every room including his well-stocked kitchen.
We are returning next month to enjoy a different season in the Meadows of Dan!
