We went for the Festival of Lights and it was great once again this year. Go during the week to avoid the crowd. Also, remember to only use your running lights so that you don't blind the driver in front of you.
Bull Run is great. There is a little welcome center with pamphlets and a few interactive displays. Small stuff, but friendly staff and enough information to get you started.
The grounds are great. Big open spaces. Historic cannons outside. You can walk around, enjoy the views.
It is unfortunate that busy Rte29 runs through the center of everything, but that is a type of history it's, in a way.
Went to the Christmas Lights drive trough and loved it. People were very nice and the light set up was very cool. Loved the woodlands area with the falling snow looking lights was really awesome.

Bull Run Regional Park, Centreville Virginia. See 9 traveler reviews, 13 photos and 1 blog post. Most of the time when we visit Washington DC we take advantage of the great camping spot in my sister's driveway but we often stop at Bull Run Park to dump our gray and black tanks.
