Compared to other imaging centers in the area the answer the phone in in a timely manner. They combine appointments. I was in and out in 30 min for a mammogram and bone density test.
They were not super friendly but nice.
5 stars for doing their job efficiently and professionally without wasting my time.
I have been a patient for 9 years now.
I have been a patient for many years. I have had mostly good experiences at the Chesapeake, VA location. First and foremost, if your paperwork is up-to-date then you get called in quickly and your appointment time spent there is under 15 minutes with the mammogram technician. So I rate them high for being very efficient. The office staff is usally 50/50 in terms of greeting you, being friendly and smiling. One of the long time office staff members hardly ever has even the slightest curve in her smile and does not speak much and seems almost withdrawn, however on the other hand, two other staff members are just the opposite, they engage with the patient and make you feel like at that moment you are important to them.
On my most recent visit, I came in with my doctor's script for the mammogram - I was able to get an appt for 5 days later. The staff member asked me if I was also interested in a 3D mammogram. I said yes. She made a phone call to a different office location to ask if I needed to pay a $60 fee upfront. They said no. So she gave me a form where i selected the type of 3d I was looking for and the price amount. I signed it and gave it back to her. She printed out a piece of paper that clearly says 3D MAMMO MAIC MAMMOGRAM. So when I came in for my appointment I fully expected to have a 2d and a 3d appointment. When I was called in the back, I was getting my regular 2D mammogram screening and the tech said, o.k. you are done. I asked what about my 3d mammogram she says, You only get that if we send you a pink slip in the mail. ???? I was VERY confused. I told the tech I filled out the form requesting to get a 3d mammogram and I am paying for it out of my pocket. She insisted that no that is not how it works and that they only do it if it is necessary. So then why was I aksed originally if I wanted the 3d. So I went home totally confused.
In the previous year, I opted for 3d for my personal security to feel better about my health and I did not have this issue I was able to get both and I was in and out of the office quickly. Communcation between the office staff and the tech must be lacking? Something happened here with my desire to get this 3d. The office staff was on the same page as I was, but for some reason I assume Management has educated the techs to deter patients from getting the 3d mammos unless necessary.
