I am grateful for the improvements made in my eyes, and the friendly, cheerful attitude of both doctor and staff, as well as the convenience of the Churchland location.
Dr. Wagner is great and I felt very comfortable.
I had a macular pucker surgery by Dr. Wagner on 3/3/2020. The result is a miracle! One year ago, another retina specialist examined my eye and asked me to schedule follow ups. When I asked about treatment, he was uncertain and mentioned the possibility of keeping the vision from worsening with a surgery. In comparison, Dr. Wagner told me that I should have the surgery as soon as possible and cited the stats of 98% success rate for surgery with potential 30% improvement of the vision. I was very doubtful about eye surgery to recover the lost vision. But my right eye was legally blind and made almost no contribution to my vision. A horizontal line of letters appeared curved when placed in front of the right eye. So a bad outcome of the surgery was no worse than not having one. The surgery team worked like a clock and is the most professional medical group I ever experienced. My 9:30am surgery was Dr. Wagner's 4th one on 3/3 and lasted 35 mins. He injected three microscopic surgical instruments into my eye to illuminate, peel, and remove scar tissues on retina. He told me that he removed 3 layers of scar tissues. The most amazing part is that the whole peocess was painless, and I could walk and eat right after surgery. I didn't need gas bubble to hold the retina in place, so I only had to keep an upright position after surgery, which forced me to sleep on a massage chair for the 1st post-op night. A worse outcome would require a face down position after surgery. After the eye patch was removed during the check up 24 hours after the surgery. I could see but the cision was blurry. Only minor sour was felt after the check up. Two eye drops for antiswollen and antibacterial were used with alarm clock reminders for their applications. A black circle at the lower part of the view of my right eye disappeared 48 hours post-op, which was caused by an air bubble in eye to hold retina and would be absorbed by eye in 2-3 days. This was a very good sign of recovery. At 72 hours post-op, my right eye had a better vision than the left when looking at phone placed about 1ft from my eye. Right now is 120 hours post-op, I felt normal except a visually bloody eye and some minor discomfort. The right eye vision is improving daily. I am excited to share my experience with you. Dr. Wagner is a miracle maker!
Was seen for a follow up to eye surgery. No waiting. Dr. Wagner and staff were very courteous and respectful. Will go back in two months. hopefully more improvement by then.
