Fairfax Nursing Center

First of all, I am writing this review based on our experience at this elderly care center for the past one month. My grandfather was transferred here after a recent hospital visit and suffers from
Dementia. So far, the staff have taken good care of him. The facility is clean and in a good location. The staff are attentive and always help my grandfather with all his needs. Yesterday we celebrated his birthday and the staff accommodated all of our requests to make this a memorable day. On behalf of my family, we thank you for exceeding on the elderly care.

My mom is currently being cared for here on the fourth floor. I live across the country so it is good to know she is in good hands. I can usually get someone on the phone when I call the nurse station. I know it's tough being understaffed. My mom has improved while there and is in good spirits. Rabi has been great, as are all of the Care staff. Alicia and the Activities staff have also been very supportive of us and gone out of their way to get her the treats that she loves.
Living so far away has made it difficult to ensure maintenance-type things get done in her room, like fix the tv or replace the battery in her wall clock. The Maintenance department also seems understaffed and super busy - they are not easily reached. But when I visit, I try to make sure things are working for her and in good order. Having my mom there sure isn't easy but I'm grateful she has a place that keeps her safe.
