Wendy Hellmann Music

Wendy is a superb instructor. Our daughter has been taking piano lessons from Wendy since she was 6yrs old, and we are continually impressed with Wendy's skill, creativity, and dedication. She is both meticulous and fun -- a perfect combination in a teacher! She gives so much of herself, including organizing joint projects between her students, painstakingly putting together a "remote recital" during the pandemic, and even spending her personal time to help us shop for a piano. Wendy is truly the best, and we feel lucky to have her. I couldn't recommend her any more highly.

Wendy has been such a great piano teacher for our daughter. Our daughter has been moving very quickly through her lessons (especially with the extra free time she has at home at the moment!) and Wendy has been great with keeping Virtual Lessons going along with keeping my daughter challenged.

Wendy offers a few different options for class lengths and even has class throughout the day for those that need to do activities during normal school hours. It’s also awesome she’s located in the Kings Park West neighborhood making it really easy to get to after work already being close to home.

The multiple recitals through out the year also run smoothly and it’s great to have the kids get to do duets or even bigger collaborations.

Wendy also teaches string instruments which we plan to take advantage of at some point also!

Overall Wendy is a great teacher and we look forward to working with her for years to come!

Wendy is a joy to work with. As a pastor, I have called upon Wendy to play for worship services when our regular musician is unavailable. In addition to being a gifted solo performer, she is a wonderful accompanist for soloists or congregational singing, on both the piano and the organ. She has stepped in at the last minute on several occasions with great professionalism. She is extremely good at communicating and works well with even difficult people. I recommend her completely.

Wendy is a phenomenal music teacher--in a brief 30 minute lesson she provides so much thoughtful and personalized instruction. She goes beyond just lessons in so many ways that are highly motivating for kids:she adapts pieces for piano our daughter is interested in, she supports composition, hosts performances twice a year that encourage both solo, duet and ensemble pieces--often partnering with other studios. She's been imaginative with virtual instruction and performance during Covid. Her musical talent is impressive and inspiring for kids and she just keeps a real sense of fun while providing serious in-depth instruction. All her pupils grow in amazing ways.

We adore Wendy! She is a local treasure. She is a musician's musician, she expertly tunes our piano, and is a spectacular instrument teacher for any string instrument or piano. Two of our kids take lessons from her and love her. There is no loss of benefit from her teaching in a video format. She is a master musician, kind, organized, and communicates her expectations clearly. We highly recommend her.
