“A lot of people ask me why we send our four kids to private school when we live in such a good school district. There are a lot of reasons to choose both options, but for me, these pics capture one of the biggest reasons I choose Green Hedges...the school integrates kids ages 3 to 15. Here, the when the preschool girls saw the middle school girls come out to the playground for lunch, they RAN to them and they all laughed and talked and hung out. I see this happen all the time. Every middle schooler knows every preschooler and everyone in between. How cool for the preschoolers, and how cool for the middle schoolers, to have a connection with each other. Other reasons I love GHS: plenty of outdoor time, music, arts, movement in the classroom, individualized academic plans, small class sizes, meaningful projects and field trips, incredible families, teachers, and staff.”

“My old stomping grounds. From 1965 to 1977 I grew up in these woods. Kemper Park, named after Kemper Beard, the great man who built the subdivision Kemper Park, and my father's favorite boss ever. What a great way to grow up in these woods, building tree forts, catching frogs down at the creek, riding bikes and dirt bikes through the trails, and shooting hoops at the b-ball court. Good times, good times.”

“I can't say enough good things about this school. Our daughter was enrolled two years ago, and loves going to school more and more every day. She comes home with such pride in her work, and you can tell she has put a lot of mental energy into the school day as well. We have had great experiences with the teachers in both the toddler and primary communities. In fact, we haven't met a teacher that hasn't impressed us with their dedication and love for teaching with the montessori principles. You can tell that the family who own and run the school are fully committed to teaching and nurturing the children. The 3+ acre back yard is an added bonus, with a lot of outdoor activities throughout the year, and all of the kids love it. Our son just started school there, and it's another identical story to our daughter - he is challenged each day, he learns a lot, he receives lessons that reinforce our parenting - sharing, being patient, helping others, having the choice to pick his activities each day, and having fun! Our kids love going to school every day, and it's a testament to the quality of the school!!”
