My teenage sons trained at the Civil Air Patrol facility at Davidson Airfield in early 1999-2002. I enjoyed taking them there & they enjoyed Air Patrol training on many evenings after attending Hayfield Secondary School nearby. Staff & management at CAP did an excellent job training teenage boys. Taught them discipline & air rescue procedures. After 9/11 security made getting in & out of the field difficult for civilians but eventually it all worked out.
Excellent facility. Had some great times here doing drills. Definitely needs a TacoLoco though.
I was a Military Policeman assigned there for 3 yrs, and it is a great place. It is a US Army Airfield with both Planes and Helicopters (well it did have both of those when I was there) and they were used to transport high Military Officers and Government Officials all over the east and central area of the country. They used to house the President's helicopters there also.
Great facility for getting stuff done.
