Walter Reed Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

I can't say enough good things about this place. Like most rehabs we have gone to, it's an older/outdated building...but if you are putting a loved one somewhere because of how the building/rooms look, then your priorities are skewed a bit!! We only have had experience on the rehab side thus far but there are so many people who have taken the best care of my mom, ever. We have been in and out of hospitals/rehabs for a year now and have NEVER had care like they give. We had the opportunity to move her closer to home (Wmbg) but chose to keep her there because of how wonderful everyone is. The care is unparalleled.
I got this text from one of my mom's friends who visited and I think it sums it up for me, "I witnessed your mom receiving very loving, attentive care today. I can definitely see why you wanted to keep her there." Please y'all, regardless of what the outside looks like, it's the inside that really matters. So give this place a chance. You will NOT regret it. Thanks to Bryant Hudgins, Amy Young and especially Ginger for everything you do!

The staff has been so helpful with my Mother during her stay. Tina( RN), Amy (Social Worker) and ALL of the staff on the rehab unit and PT Department. They have been so kind and are making sure she is cared for and comfortable. All of my questions and concerns were addressed immediately and they have been wonderful with every aspect of her care. If I could give 10 stars I would! You all are appreciated more than you know!!!

My name is Elizabeth Wallace. I live on the Eastern Shore of Va. My mother is 94. She needed to be in a rehabilitation center because of a recent fall. It was recommended by the Va Health Services that Walter Reed Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center was an excellent place. It was. My mother received the best of care there. All of the staff were kind to her and willing to talk to me about her on going care. All of her needs were meet.. Even though it was a couple of hrs. of driving for my husband and myself, I felt sure that she would have no problems having her needs met as we would have to leave to return home. I knew she was being taken care of. Personal calls were made by the Social Worker Hannah to me, up- dating me with her medical needs, unlike the poor experiences that I have had with other facilities. I truly thank all of the staff for, at all times, their professional care. I would recommend Walter Reed to anyone. Sincerely Mrs. Wallace, thank you.
