  This is a nice 3+ mi loop through the woods amidst the still evident earthenworks dugged during the 7 day battle of Cold Harbor. There is a shorter loop if you wish. I liked the occasional signs w quotes explaining the perspectives of soldiers entrenched in the earthenworks. Well shaded.

  Cold Harbor is a civil war battlefield that its estimated 5,000 Confederate troops and 13,000 Union troops died. GRANT called the 3 attack he ordered the biggest mistake he made. 5000 Union troops were killed in 30 minutes. Now the area is a park with foot trails, displays and quiet solitude except for the ghosts of the battles. On the road trail you will see Confederate and Union trenches and battlements. The photos are of the park as you drive through. The park visitors center was closed because of the cronovirus.

  Cold Harbor Battlefield Walk - Social Isolation does not have to be the same as quarantine. The Battlefields around Richmond are grossly under appreciated and very walkable. We walked over 3 miles and rarely saw anyone else especially on the wooded portions of the trails. These photos are all on the Confederate side of the battlefield which compared to many is still very small. The visitors center and restrooms are closed but the interpretive signs are all all open.

  The one charge Grant always regretted. 12 miles from Richmond, VA. The trenches are well preserved.
  If you are a descendant of Civil War soldiers
  it's a moving must see.

  A must see for all civil war fans. There is a very nice trail that can be taken that accesses all of the different battle sites. There is also a road around the battlefields that allows those who choose to drive. There is parking in front of each marked site. The visitor center is small but there are bathrooms and it also serves as a storm shelter. Plenty of parking at the visitors center as well. A good place to let the dogs out.

  The best boat club around. Staff always keeps the boats clean and ready to go as soon as you get there. Once you are done they are assisting you getting off the boat and rounding up your things. The boats are great. Why buy a boat when you have a club like this?

  Visited this club for a weekend and had a great time. They have some good boats that run great! Staff is very courteous and helpful! Boat began to over heat at one point because of a clogged filter, came to the dock staff fixed and we were off again!
