West End Veterinary Clinic

I’ve been bringing my dog here for a couple of years and they are the BEST in Richmond! The staff is always super friendly and always willing to work with you. Dr. Mason had the knowledge to help my dog finally get on the right food to get him to the weight he needed to be at. I’d seen two other vets about this! I’m always treated like a friend when I go there and can tell that everyone cares 💜

When I first rescued my buddy off of the street, I was unaware of what kind of battles she was fighting. On the outside, she was an absolute mess, greasy and matted. Her teeth were the sources of a lot of pain. I wasn't sure if she was even vaccinated. I didn't know what was going on internally and I was honestly kind of scared. I had just rescued this poor bean and I promised her safety and comfort, but no vet I came into contact with had any openings remotely close to my liking (we're talking months out). Not West End, though.

After hearing our story, they got us in within days. They were able to run every test under the sun and help make sure that she was healthy. We were able to medicate some things (like her poor ears) and have her feeling good as new. They cut out the mats so a groomer (elsewhere), was able to help tidy up THAT portion.

They have earned my business, for sure. While my little bean may love everyone, she truly loves the folks here and knows that she's going to get at least 4 treats while they do what they must to make sure she's healthy.

Outside of taking care of my girl, the staff is kind to me. After everything they've helped me out with, they've gained my trust, confidence and recommendation. I try to push everyone that needs quality care for their pets to them, so if you're looking for a vet you can trust who won't push unnecessary tests/medications/etc., then you've found them.

We put a lot of research into finding a vet for our dog as we've had negative experience with large chains in the past. We've been talking our pup here since he was about 9 weeks old. Now at just over a year we're still happy about how amazing Dr Mason and the staff are. They've been helpful through every emergency and non emergency and I can't tell you have great they are at making you feel better when you're beating yourself up about mistakes you've made or being overly cautious. Even now, when your pup is going through fear based aggression they have been nothing but patient and kind with him and do everything they can to make the visit as quick and easy as possible.

We LOVE West End. They really care about your pet and thoughtfully help you through any decisions about their health. We have had so many positive experiences here and whenever possible bring our dogs to West End. I love that I can trust them to do right by my dogs AND me. Their recommendations are never over top like some vets who I feel like are trying to just money grab. I drive to Richmond from DC whenever possible to work with them here. They are great!

We have lived in Goochland County for 6 1/2 years and have struggled to find a good vet, until now. We love West End Veterinary Clinic! Dr. Mason is fantastic! She spends time really listening to what is going on with your pet and thoroughly examines them. All of the staff are really helpful and friendly. We're thrilled we found this practice, and someone to care for our fur babies!
