Great and faithful church. Ever been to a church where the pastor and the message speaks to you? Try First Baptist. Amazing how on point their messages are. And very open and welcoming to all folks. Truly of God.
My son attends the preschool here and i love it. He has made so much progress in my opinion since he started and we love the teachers and staff. The love and care for all the kids and is very friendly. My 3 year old son is always excited when i say its time for school and he responds "yea Music class" guess thats his favorite.
Went to my cousin's funeral. What a beautiful chapel! Reminded me of the the Wren building in William and Mary. The funeral was embracing, warm and gracious. And inclusive! They honored my cousin as the kind and generous man he was and they honored his life partner sharing that my cousin loved him very much and this was a committed relationship. Honestly ,it exceeded my expectations! Bravo!
This church embraces thoughtful faith, and is pretty liberal for being Baptist. It keeps a traditional and formal service, with elite music and choir drawing international attention, but takes pride in being open minded to the modern world.
My wife and I have been members for most of our married life and all of the life of our children. I enjoy a wonderful Sunday School class with individuals, couples and families that have become close friends. I enjoy the love and support of a caring congregation. I appreciate fun, faith-based programs for my children. I like the ecumenical nature of our formation and worship. I am at peace in our beautiful sanctuary, chapel, and fellowship hall. I am grateful to serve alongside my dear River Road friends.
