Amazing staff and park was very clean. Kids loved the arcade room! The train was super loud. I wish they could put some kind of fencing or something up to dampen sound a little and this would be the perfect campground!!
Our whole family stayed at Anvil in the cabins and a cottage last week for a family trip to Busch Gardens. We were a little shocked just how small this campground was and surprised by the train. However, there are so many reasons why those 2 things do not matter and I would book again. My kids were absolutely OBSESSED with the game room.. and so was I. The staff was a pleasure to communicate with as I enjoyed every interaction with them. Their pet policy and accommodations were perfect and made my first trip with a dog a breeze. It was well maintained and we were very comfortable during our stay in the cottage. Some members of our family were woken up by the train at times, but no one was kept up from it. I personally grew up next to a train so I slept better then I do at home without a train. Our family made beautiful memories. Thanks guys for such a personal and welcoming stay!
Can’t say enough good things about our stay at this campground. Our hosts, Ray and Penny, were so warm and welcoming. This summer they offered free coffee, donuts and ice cream, and were very generous with their time and answering questions. They have a very clean pool and bathrooms, and their store is extremely well stocked. The bathrooms were probably the best I’ve ever seen at a campground. We had electricity and sewer for our small camper, and they are able to accommodate many types of campers and RVs. We will definitely be back as we have a child at William and Mary and the campground is exceedingly easy to get to within 10 minutes of campus.
What a fantastic campground. This was our first family trip to Busch Gardens and Water Country. We have a class c and needed to have transportation to and from each park. Anvil Campground is conveniently located to both. The bus shuttle picks up right at the campground. Perfect for us.
Our site, #70 was a premium patio with fire pit, picnic table with umbrella and swing. The site had full electrical hookup, sewer and water. Def the most modern RV/Marine hookup I’ve seen. The bath house/ bathrooms were extremely clean and well maintained as was the entire campground.
Kudos to this family for keeping up a legacy that started out as raw land. We will be back! Thank you!
Fantastic campground! Awesome staff. Everything was absolutely perfect! The campground was very clean, the bathrooms appeared to be newly remodeled, and more importantly they have very clean restrooms! My 7 year old fell in love with the unique zip line offered at the sand park. He also enjoyed the game room. Which by the way, offered an array of games at no additional cost! This place is a hidden gem and certainly one which we plan to revisit in the near future!!! Oh, and they also offered donuts and coffee on select days! When we originally checked in, the lady at the office offered my son a “welcome to the campground “ complimentary Ice-cream! He was very happy. Lastly, there is something magical about seeing the train pass behind the welcome center. Call me nostalgic, but I thought that was pretty awesome!!! :)
