A little but beautiful Botanical Garden with lots of places to simply enjoy. No fee, donations accepted. Park at Freedom Park visitor center and walk the short path to the charming entrance.
Restrooms are at the visitor center. The same park hosts Go Ape Park with ziplines, historic spots and trails.
Picnic tables and benches within and just outside of the garden.
Stopped here on a cool drizzly day. Beautiful place to visit and explore! Staff was very friendly and was happy to answer questions.
Such a cute garden and beautiful area. The parking lot is so easy to get to, with other amenities to do like the Go ape experience.
The botanical garden staff (or volunteers I'm unsure ) were soooo informative about all the plants and wildlife and so kind. It's a great place to go with kids too especially cause it's a smll circle with one way in/out. Highly recommend!
Absolutely wonderful; and free! Well maintained with lots of informative signs. We will definitely return often!
It's a great walk when you get there, Even a place to bring a book, take a seat on a bench, and just enjoy nature. Nonprofit organization maintains it with obvious loving care. Probably spent about an hour there just walking and looking at plants. Pics show a hydrangea tree! Also the fairy garden and one of the many markers showing perennial gardens that can be planted in this area for a good environmental results and low maintenance. For the most part, plants are marked clearly, and there are a lot of these signs describing how you can recreate that garden. Honor system to buy plants to take home is mentioned at the entrance, but the plants are on tables deeper in the garden. All sorts of plants, even trees are potted and ready to take home. Prices are listed on stakes in the pots. The gate had the cutest handle - two garden spades! The fairy garden is on a table that is quite tall. Maybe there's a tree stump or something for little children to stand on nearby that I missed. It is a pretty long drive into the park before you reach the gardens but you can't miss them when you pass that cute gate. This would be interesting at any season since some flowers peak at different times of the year.
