“I just completed Icon Gym’s 6 week challenge and would recommend this program to anyone wanting to jumpstart their fitness journey. Dave’s workout sessions each week were fun yet challenging. So much so that the hours just flew by in the gym. My personal favorite was the tank. His nutrition plan was also easy to follow and a far cry from a meal deprivation plan. In fact, I would say the hardest part of the program was making sure I ate everything I needed to each day. I have always heard people saying that it was best to eat your way to good health, but I never truly believed it until now. “Most of the doctors at this location are very warm and efficient, and it is easy to tell which few need a little more coaching. Over all, the staff are wonderful, the nurses and techs are warm and friendly and the majority of the doctors are experienced and have a great bedside manner, and are more than willing to work with you and do whatever it takes to keep you and your baby well. One of the doctors was one of my main pillars of support while I was pregnant (Freeman) and provided all the care needed to keep my baby healthy. She was compassionate and masterful when it came to caring for me, my specialized needs and making sure I made it though. When an emergency delivery was necessary, Dr. Justice was the surgeon on call and did an amazing surgical job, saving my baby's life and possibly my own. There are only two gripes that keep this from being a 5 star review. Communication at INOVA overall is terrible. Not bad enough that no one knows what they're doing, but enough that it's hard to keep track of what's going on, even as it's happening. You hear one thing and then you hear another. And then another. It's beyond frustrating. Make sure you get the full story from your practitioners and any referrals, and keep records so you can advocate for yourself and get a good picture of what's going on. Gripe 2 is that these excellent doctors have very, very hectic schedules, so you CANNOT miss appointments or you will be waiting for perhaps another month for your next one. Sometimes you will be waiting for an answer from the patient portal...some doctors don't really answer you at all and you have to call in for assistance. Once you get their attention, they are on it very quickly. I will be receiving my GYN care here, I was so impressed with the service here. I highly recommend them to all women of childbearing age. Due to the Birthing Inn experience being the best hospital stay I had ever had, I would likely come back to this place if I were to be pregnant again...God forbid!”

“I have been a member of Kore Self-defense and Krav Maga for more than a year. I had no prior self-defense training and thought it would be a great way to get back into shape and pick up useful skills which have real-life application. The staff is very welcoming - accepting practitioners of all levels to the mat and encouraging everyone to work together - Male, Female, unranked, and ranked individuals. The instruction staff is incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to explain why certain actions are built into the system. The classes generally run 45 mins at a time and are stacked throughout the week where it is possible to get up to 3 hours of work in on a given day. They range from Kore work, self-defense training, kickboxing and stricking, and applications courses. As a member you have access the entire range of sessions or pick and choose what fits your availability or purpose for training. I have gotten back into shape, achieved my first rank, and become a much more attentive, and prepared individual, to spot and deal with dangerous situations.
