  We had a two night stay at the inn. The grounds were picturesque and inviting. I spent quite a bit of time in the hammock under the huge trees. The people were very friendly and our dining experience was great. The pork was amazing - succulent and full of flavor. The complimentary port in the piano room topped of our evenings. The only issue I had was with our room. We expected the Cabin Boy's room to be small and rustic; however, I am sad to say it simply wasn't clean. The bathroom had dried spills on the floor, the toilet hadn't been thoroughly scrubbed, and the coffee cup hadn't been washed. The shower situation in the room was ridiculous. There is a hanging wand for a shower head, and with no curtain, water sprayed everywhere. Also, I find it hard to believe the bathroom is up to electrical code with the electric cord from the lamp running flush with the sink spigot, no safety outlets, and the exposed hot water heater. That bathroom needs to be redesigned. Overall, though, we enjoyed Prospect Hill Plantation and wouls consider going again - just in a different cabin.

  A wonderful dinner. Food (both taste and presentation)and ambience superb. Lovely location and setting plus a delightful greeting from a friendly black cat. The service was both friendly and professional. Compliments to the chef and staff.
  Would recommend to anyone. Hope to be back again.

  I attended a styled shoot at the Prospect Hill Inn and decided to make a getaway out of it and stayed the night. From check in to check out, everyone was so kind and helpful. I did the cheese platter add on for my room and it was so worth the little splurge! The amenities are as upgraded as a historical home can be, the room and bathroom were incredibly clean and inviting. I enjoyed dinner and their restaurant and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. I loved sitting outside on the back porch, sipping on the complimentary Cognac and Port. I felt like I was in my on little oasis. I can not recommend staying here enough!

  I participated in a photo shoot on the Prospect Hill Inn property. Everyone was so hospitable and welcoming to us. They opened up the entire property--cottages, the main house, the grounds, the fields, we were even able to shoot with the alpacas!--and, honestly, it could not have been a better experience. Even further, they graciously hosted us by catering a delicious lunch (which is totally above and beyond and does NOT normally happen at shoots like this). It was so filling and scrumptious! We appreciate everything they did for us and will definitely be referring others to this Inn and restaurant!

  Very romantic and no frills at the same time. Just the right amount of understated luxury in nice settings. Fantastic staff. Dog friendly. Virginia is truly for lovers and should be proud of this place. We will return for sure.

Prospect Hill Inn was gorgeous with some amazing history. I've always wanted to stay at a plantation and I finally did. The property (or parts of it) are very old (circa 1699) and some of the places could use some updating but at the same time, that might contribute to the charm of the plantation.
