A first-class family-owned marina and boat yard! Engine issues on our 45-foot sailboat brought us here in distress. Harold, Brooks, Jim accommodated until we solved the cascade of issues, with James' expert and professional mechanical assist. This is the place to be for Chesapeake boaters. I've never seen such clean, well-maintained, and updated facilities! Highly recommended.
We had an emergency on Friday of Labor Day weekend and James immediately diagnosed the problem and fixed it to salvage our cruise. Really appreciate his kindness and expertise - I had previously been at boatyard for DIY. work and again he was very helpful.
We had an emergency on the water and the tow company took us to Regent Point where Harold was waiting after Morgan who towed us had called in advance. Harold was accommodating and helpful for the 3+ hours part of our party had to wait with the boat while I went an hour back and forth to get the truck and trailer. When we found more problems when loading that prevented us from being able to pull the boat down the road he made a call and got us permission to leave it and come back the next day with tools to make it drivable. He was there again when we came and recovered the boat and was just as friendly and full of good recommendations for when we get back on the water as he had been the day before. The way Regent Point treated us was especially appreciated at a time when our fun and well planned adventure was falling apart and quickly becoming more expensive and stressful.
The friendliest staff and the cleanest ammenites are housed at this serene, almost whimsical marina. Regent Point Marina combines the esthetics and service of a "glamp-ground" resort with the professionalism and expierence of a high end marina. The staff will not only make you feel like family but compliments the family-like environment adopted by all the residents and transients alike. In all my years as a boat owner, I've never come across a more accomodating and genuine bunch of people anywhere on the East Coast. They provide full service for all of your boating and personal needs. Their size is a compliment to the service they provide but, unfortunately, this means that they can't povide full services (haul-outs) for larger vessels. However, for all of your on the water needs, this family is who you need to see before going anywhere else on the Rappahannock River or Chesepeake Bay!
Found this marina on Dockwa. What an amazing place and pleasant surprise. I was heading South to Norfolk from Middle River MD. Needed a place to duck in and relax for a couple of days after a long motoring trip into winds right on the nose. Then a nite at a rolly anchorage. I reserved a spot for a couple of days. On the way had some engine issues....texted Lauren at Marina and told her I would be in late as I was waiting for a tow. While I waited on the tow, Lauren got busy talking to the owner about my engine issue. Jim the owner contacted me about the issue and to get some details of the problems. He told me they would get me right. I arrived at the marina by tow at 6:30-7:00 pm and there was help waiting at the dock to tie up. Wow! What a welcome site after the couple of days I had. I just wanted a shower, a cup of coffee, and some ac. Plugged in, started ac and walked to shower. Nice clean and very refreshing. Returned to a cool boat and had a snack and went to bed early. Awoke early after a great sleep. Eric, one of the techs there arrived in the morning. Very professional, competent tech. Had figured out the issue, affected repairs and explained the issue to me within the hour. Wow.
Not an everyday type of issue either. He was very considerate of my boat and of me. Jim the owner asked for some info and then generated a very reasonable invoice for the repairs. Decided to stay another day. Walked around to stretch legs later. Grounds are immaculate. No exaggeration. The residents there are very friendly and welcoming.
What an amazing place. If you are in the area stop in and become a believer. If you need a slip call them. Need work done on your boat, hire them. You will not be disappointed. I wish all marinas could be like this. Great job folks! Thanks
