Washington Burgess Inn

I very much like the clean room and the good shower of the Washington Burgess Inn. I especially like the absence of unexpected charges. A 7-11 is half a mile toward West Point; and a Food Lion is just across the bridge, in West Point, with very little delay due to traffic lights. I will use it again when I visit Williamsburg.

This is NOT a fancy city place. It’s dated and needs a bit of a facelift for decor. Yes, it’s owned by “foreigners” which seems to be an issue for some of the reviews here. They aren’t “unfriendly” they just have different traditions and lifestyles and there’s a little less comfort with the language barrier, though they’re efficient at what the do and understand.

This place is clean, bug free, conveniently located and affordable. If your travel time is meant to spend it in your room or expecting every convenience and fancy amenity, this isn’t the place for you. If you’re planning to invest your time and money in all the great things to see and do in our area and just need a decent place for sleeping and winding down after your adventures, this is a great option. Just leave the judgy snobbery at home. 😊
