Best place I’ve ever worked. Lisa really cares about her staff and residents. Very comfortable environment the families are really nice. I highly recommend this lovely place for anyone looking into homes for their parents/spouses.

This is one of the most professional, comfortable and cleanest environments I've ever worked for. The supervisor is really sweet she works with us, she makes sure we are safe and good as well as the residents. A very homie place for the residents so they still get that at home feeling. I highly recommend looking into it for family members looking for a good place for their love ones to be and be at peace about it.

The Virginia House is truly a home! In fact, upon first seeing the living room, my mom exclaimed, “ It looks just like mine!” The real difference between The Virginia House and larger assisted living facilities however lies in the personal care that my mother receives. My mother, who has Alzheimer’s disease, had been in three different memory care facilities in four years and had become very agitated and anxious. In hindsight I realize that she simply didn’t feel safe. That all changed when she moved into The Virginia House. The owner, Lisa, is an extremely warm, caring person and was able to gain my mother’s trust. It was evident even on her first day that the calm, nurturing environment of The Virginia House was exactly what my mother needed to ease her anxiety and bring her peace. At The Virginia House there is always at least 2 and often 3 caregivers for the 2 current residents. Lisa maintains very high standards for her caregivers and she is a constant presence in the home. This is vastly different than larger facilities where the ratio tends to be one caregiver for 7 residents with management nowhere in sight. Having such a low caregiver to resident ratio allows The Virginia House to truly operate like a home. Meals are cooked and eaten in the kitchen and residents can sit on the deck or in the beautiful backyard with their caregiver. My mother happens to love to walk and even though she is now in a wheelchair, her caregivers often take her on walks through the neighborhood to sit by the river. My mother can move through her day at her leisure rather than adhering to an institutionalized schedule. She is never left “ waiting” for someone to help her or keep her company. Additionally, when I want to “visit” my mom, I simply facetime with her through her caregiver’s phone as I am out of state. This type of warm, caring personalized care is the true beauty of The Virginia House. I am so thankful that we found a place where my mom can finally feel safe and cared for.

The owner is a very caring woman who puts a lot of effort into making sure her clients are happy.
