  Norfolk trash pickup is reliable. The employees are friendly and they even bring in a big claw to pick odd items and poorly wrapped yard waste on the curb. Sometimes the narrow Norfolk streets are a challenge for the big trucks but the drivers handle it well. It is a good system.

  I'm new to Norfolk & my can was missed as a result of tree trimmers being in the way. I called to see what I could do to empty it. The lady on the phone was very sweet & kind.

  I don’t want to be this person to complain. But my can went out Monday night for Tursday pick up. Tuesday came and everyone on the street had their trash picked up by me and my neighbor.
  
  I put in a ticket for a missed collection and they said it would be resolved in 24 hours. It’s now been a little more than 24 hours and I have no resolution or any idea when my can will be emptied. Now I have a full can and trash piling up in ny backyard with nowhere to put it.

  Upped my review to 4⭐️. Would be 5 but I had to call them to follow up after my initial ticket I submitted online. Within hours of calling, my situation was resolved.

  Only came to the site to look up the address of the hazardous waste drop-off location because I had forgotten it. .. when I saw the few people who had bad experiences, I was inclined to give Norfolk's Waste Management some props. We've lived here for 50 years and we've never had a major problem. 99.9% of the time recycling, trash can, and yard refuse is picked up right on time. (and the other .1% is usually due to extreme weather). I won't do the math, but that is A LOT of pick-ups!
  
  I have also been to the waste drop-off site a couple of times. Not only were the employees helpful, but they were a pleasure to talk to as well.
  
  So yeah.. some isolated people are going to have some issues and be inclined to complain.. unfortunately no one writes about how much they love their cities trash collection. One out of five stars is grossly inaccurate.
