It was far too difficult to narrow down the choices, so we ordered a small buffet of deliciousness. The ham & butter baguette was my favorite. As was the chocolate croissant, the cookie that had ALL THE THINGS in it and my 7 year old loved the ham & cheese breakfast muffin. All delicious from a very friendly staff!
I’m in town on a family vacation and stopped in for a sandwich and coffee. Quaint little bakery with muffins, pastries, croissants, cookies, sandwiches and coffee. The staff was really nice and accommodating as well. My mother in law loved the house dressing they make here and even gave her a cup to bring home. They should sell it by the jar!! Definitely stop in to support this bakery if you’re in Carper Charles!
If you have zero desire to try the best peanut butter cookies on the planet... than.. ya... avoid this place. But if you want peanut butter cookies so good that you'll want to slap your momma... then The Bakery on Mason is a MUST when in Cape Charles. Seriously, get them.
The cinnamon twist things are phenomenal. Like a cross between a croissant, a cinnamon roll and a deal with the devil. I buy like 8 every time I go.
The other thing I always get is the breakfast muffin or the cruffin. That's a lie. I just made it sound like I get either/or. I get both. Along with peanut butter cookies and the cinnamon twists.
I gained 5 delicious pounds just writing this review.
Each item is made fresh that morning! The walnut, blue cheese bread is to die for. The owner made two birthday cakes for me this week that were amazing. One was a strawberry cake with white cream cheese icing and the other was a vanilla cake with rich thick chocolate buttercream icing. My large family fought over the last piece. A must if you are in Cape Charles, but get there early.
I first tried the Cape Charles sandwich and was blown away by the delicious ingredients and their fresh baguettes. This brought me back for a second visit when I tried the cinnamon twirl and rainbow croissant, both of which were just as artistic as they were scrumptious. The service is excellent, the bakery is beautiful, and most importantly, the food is second-to-none. This is a must-stop place when in Cape Charles! Will definitely be coming back for a third visit as soon as possible!
