“If you are looking for the smart way of getting into small livestock and backyard agriculture, this is a good place to start- although you will initially pay more. I have planted 14 plant items from her and am preparing for livestock, because starting out with disease is way more expensive in even the near term, and she is meticulous. She is more interested in creating a network of people educated in the best practices of low-input backyard agronomy than anything else, and she won't even offer to sell you something that she doesn't think will thrive-plants or animals.”

“Pasty Goodwin and the. PCC are wonderful. They have been very helpful to my family when we needed assistance. The only area they need to improve is the call back time for families who have an emergency such as infected dental problems. Its possible not to get a call back for help for 3-4 says and the person calling is suffering in pain. Other than that I am grateful for all their help. Powhatan is very fortunate to have the volunteers who are part of this organization.”

“Jimmy's Carpet has done many projects for me over the years. My latest project involved moving furniture, removing carpet, installing hardwood flooring and replacing furniture. They did a wonderful job. They were on time, polite, professional, took care of my property and cleaned daily. They even offered to help put felt pads on the furniture. The workmanship was excellent and they took pride in their work. Pricing was reasonable and I like supporting local businesses. I would definitely hire them again and I highly recommend.”

The food is always hot, fresh, delicious and ready for pickup when they say it will be ready. They offer vegan and vegetarian options, and a really great variety of other types of food. “I was apprehensive when I pulled into the parking lot. This is just a house off the main road. A small collection of rotting furniture out front gave me little hope for what was inside. I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a huge store absolutely packed to the gills with furniture and china and various other antiques. To be honest it was quite overwhelming. Normally in antique stores, the furniture is empty. In this store every dresser and desk and armoire in the building is full of items. It was just stuff on top of stuff on top of stuff. It's vaguely hoarder house feeling. A lot of the pieces here are beatiful. True antiques in great condition. The only real issue is the store is packed so full I'm not sure how some of the pieces could conceivably be removed from the store without moving many other pieces of furniture out first. Overall a stop worth making.”
