Great afternoon at the park. With minor tweaking this day could become a major event for Bluegrass and Americana music fans in PWC and surrounding areas.
Excellent and extremely well maintained county Historic Centre. Multiple buildings are open. There is about half mile walking trail that lead you to the run. Steep in places and with steps. The trail is unpaved. One needs to watch out for tree roots..The site has both Civil War Trails marker and is stop 5 on the Bristoe Campaign Trail. Highly recommended.
Drive by this historic location every weekend I like the drive on this road very picturesque. Very unique place to visit and for walks during a cool afternoon. Highly recommended to enjoy with the entire family.
Once all the buildings are open this tour will be a five star attraction in my opinion. Resent storm damage has resulted in the closing to the public of most of the building on this site. The school was open and we were able to tour it and I did manage to capture an interior image of the church through a window. If you are in the area make this a stop especially if you have children that need some space to burn of energy.
