Mark is a great teacher for anyone. If your child is interested in learning to play the drums, this is the guy you want to teach him/her with all the fundamentals of playing music and having fun with it. He works very well with people and gives good advice and lesson plans for his students along with sound encouragement to keep the student interested. He offers private one on one lessons in his home studio at reasonable prices and makes the experience comfortable for all. I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with him over the summer months watching/listening to him teach my daughter how to play. If you're reading these reviews you can stop here. Mark is the guy you want.
Mark's lessons are comprehensive, fun, and tailored to exactly your level. As a complete beginner, Mark made drumming feel approachable. The sessions usually blend basic exercises with songs as well. He then follows up after each session with easy to follow exercises for practice. I would recommend Mark to anyone, at any level of drumming!
I have been a weekly student of Mark's going on six months now and highly recommend him if you are serious about learning how to make music playing drums, or how to improve your technique and skills if you are already a drummer. Mark is a college educate professional drummer and instructor, he knows the art and science of drumming and music, and he knows how to instruct students at any level. I am a professional instructor myself as part of my career, not music, and can tell you Mark could teach a train the trainer course for any subject matter expert looking to learn how to teach. He knows how to adjust the methods and level of instruction to the student and get results. I am 52 and never played an instrument in my life and he has me making music. If you are just starting out with drums, do yourself a favor, reach out to Mark and learn the right way; there is no substitute for one on one professional instruction. Do it before you develop bad habits or get frustrated and give up. If you are an experienced drummer and have hit the wall and want to break through to the next level, do yourself a favor and reach out to Mark; he can get you to the next level and beyond. Mark is the man!

Mark is an amazing drum teacher! My 10yo son is the type of kid that gets frustrated easily, but Mark has a way of getting him to laugh off his mistakes and learn from them. Mark delivers his instruction in a fun and manageable way, consistently checks to make sure my son understands, and encourages him to reflect on his successes and challenges. My son really looks forward to his lesson each week and has made great progress in a short amount of time!
My daughter takes lessons from Mark and I am so happy with how quickly she started to play music...not just beat on the drums. It is obvious he is an incredibly talented musician. I have taken, observed and given music lessons so it was easy to recognize how good of a Teacher he is, too. Most of all he is an approachable, genuine guy without an ego. My impression is he cares about his students. I confidently recommend Mark.
