got a slab of ribs and a brisket sandwich with a side a mac n cheese. You could taste the maple smoke flavor in every juicy bite yummm!
(September 24, 2022, 7:45 pm)Must check out! Randomly picked this place on the way home from vacation and it was a great choice! Brisket, pulled pork, and fries were delicious. Cole slaw was simple and a great addition for on the sandwich. The BBQ sauces were incredible! Mild and spicy are highly recommended. Spicy was not too spicy.
(September 6, 2022, 5:08 pm)Their brisket was cooked perfectly: it was pull-apart tender, with a nice smoke ring, and a very thin and even fat layer. Each slice I had was from the flat. I don't recall if the bark was crispy or not, or how dark or thick it was, but that doesn't really matter. It was very mildly smoky, which is probably preferable for most customers, although I tend to like smokier. But, it is really hard to find good BBQ brisket around these parts, and this is close to the best I've had outside of Texas.
The BBQ sauce they provided was excellent! It was very well balanced tanginess, spice, smokiness, and sweetness.
I also had pulled pork, which was OK. It was a little wet/greasy, and I didn't try to discern if it was grease or water, but it still tasted great. I prefer to have a few little dry/burnt bits mixed in. Similar to the brisket, it was very mildly smoky, but great with the sauce.
The chicken wings were big, and well done, and were surprisingly smokier than the brisket or pulled port. Again, they were great with the sauce.
The mac n cheese side was a well done but standard baked mac n cheese, though the cabbage stood out as really rich, tangy, juicy and soft. There was nothing fancy about either; just well-made sides that don't pull focus from the meats.
Overall the meats shined, especially the brisket, but the best of show goes to the BBQ sauce.
(July 13, 2022, 12:57 pm)Passed through town to look at a car for sale nearby and stopped in for lunch. Incredible customer service and hospitality. Allowed us to sample the brisket and pulled pork and made us feel welcome from the minute we walked in. Food was super fresh, flavorful and reasonably priced. Would 100% go back and highly recommend.
(May 26, 2022, 8:17 pm)I got the pulled pork sandwich with the vinegar based sauce and it was absolutely delicious. Plenty of meat on the sandwich and the flavor reminded me of authentic North Carolina BBQ. If you are looking great food and a great price this is the spot! Will definitely go back to try the beef brisket.
