Seaside Health Center

My mom (who is 91) broke her hip and I rushed her to a Sentara hospital.
She was treated with care and was quickly diagnosed. She then received an
operation to install new hardware. The Surgical Team, Emergency Room staff
and hospital Recovery Team, did a wonderful job. And, their kind hospital
"placement" team member worked with me to move her to the Seaside
Rehabilitation Center.

My mom is a survivor but has a low tolerance to pain and I was worried! The
Seaside staff was remarkable! Mom got stronger and was pampered by the
staff. She began to believe that she could come back from the injury. She
loved her Nursing staff, CNAs, food servers and pretty much everyone and she
didn't want to leave! I was given a team of professionals that was
excellent: Therapy, Social Work Specialist, Activities Coordinator, Nursing
Team and Food Specialists. They kept me informed and carried mom through
all stages of Rehabilitation!

I was able to add extras such as laundry care, a hair appointment and a
wonderful fingernail painting for mom. There were lots of activities for
the patients as well. Now, these items might not seem important, but
Seaside knows their work. My mom began to "glow" again. It was a delight
to see her body and spirit improve.

All of the Therapy specialists were wonderful! They got mom up and working
hard each day. They used all kinds of equipment and encouragement to make
it happen. And, they were kind and encouraging. My family and I were
delighted!

And, our wonderful Social Worker lined up Home Care and addressed all my
fears and concerns. My family also appreciated the kind and efficient
Concierge teams.

Thank you to all of these superb professionals for expert care and kindness
to mom! She is now positioned for a full recovery!

Our family is eternally grateful to the skilled nursing staff at Seaside for the care that they recently gave to Rich, husband and brother, as well as the care they provided for our Mom seven years ago. For both of our family members, the nursing care was highly skilled, thoughtful and effective. From his first hours after transfer from the hospital, Rich was thoughtfully and carefully attended to.The empathy and skill of all the staff members were greatly appreciated

We were impressed with how the Nurses and CNAs always explained their actions and inquired about Rich's comfort and ours. They maintained their respectful approach throughout days and nights of our vigil. The last days of a family member's life are so difficult, something that the nursing staff recognized and helped us through. We will always gratefully remember the care he was given at Seaside. .

My wife received therapy recovering from a stroke. The staff were outstanding in all respects. In particular two employees were especially helpful: Lori and Ami (spelling?) They are truly professional and very caring people. I can not praise them enough. I highly recommend the facility.

My experience at Seaside was wonderful. I cannot say enough about the staff at Seaside. Not just the nursing staff, the housekeepers were personable and caring, especially Debra. Lori and Amy not only got me into Seaside safely they made sure I was just as safe going home. I was fortunate enough to walk into Seaside and be able to walk out. Unfortunately when I was at Seaside I had COVID. However, Seaside was quick and able to get me the Antibodies Infusion. If it was not for Seaside I truly do not know where I would be. I cannot say thank you enough.

My parents have been living at Seaside now for a year and a half. They have been very well cared for, so well that they have actually improved from when they were living at home with home care. We are kept well informed of how they are doing. This includes communication about recommended changes in medications, doctors visits and just overall health status. Nursing staff is on top and closely monitoring my mom's blood sugar throughout the day. The facility is clean and the staff is very friendly and caring. Most of all, my parents love the food and activities. Every time I talk with them, they are happy and they often mention how good the food is!
